INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Interventional Radiology uses medical imaging equipment to guide minimally invasive procedures. While diagnostic radiology focuses on pinpointing and diagnosing problems, interventional procedures are often a viable alternative to traditional surgery, involving fewer risks, less pain, reduced cost, and faster recovery.

What is a

RADIOLOGIST

A radiologist is a physician who has completed many years of training and education. This includes four years of medical school, five or more years in a hospital residency program, and usually a one- to two-year fellowship in a specialized field. The physician must also pass the American Board of Radiology licensing examination in order to earn the designation “board certified.”

Our board-certified radiologists have studied in many of the United States’ top universities and medical schools. They bring a wide variety of skills and experiences focused on treating and diagnosing disease with imaging technology and minimally invasive, image-guided techniques.
